From the point of view of the first three bosses in Karazhan, yesterday... "was a good day to die".

Having already proven itself on Attumen and Moroes we HAD to push past Maiden to know that the previous week wasn't a fluke. Prove it we did.

Even with 3 'new' people to our Kara group we had immense success and were able to find some new talent in our Guild. A new Healer, a darn good DPS (Shamans really do 'bring the noise') and a Healer potentially hiding inside a Boomkin.

(Nightwish had the best heals of the successful Maiden fight and she's not even specced Resto.... sainte vache)

Fun times and purple loot for all. (Well almost all) :)

The first shot of us in Kara went EXTREMELY well so let's build on this Friday.

Wow, what a night.

I can't stress how successful that was for a guild going in there for the first time. Allow me to share a hearty congrats to all involved, even those who could only join us for a quick visit.

After a few hours in Kara and a couple of unexpected delays we were able to 1 shot Attumen, 2 shot Moroes (impressive considering we lacked tanks) and took the Maiden down to 15% on our second try but just ran out of time. The Fact is we could have taken her on our third but we had some pops in the hallway leading up to her so we decided to just resume on Day 2.

Some notable events:
- Norstarken (Who says he's having a hard time figuring out his spell rotation) hit the highest DPS at 817 for the Moroes fight.
- Lisa and Storm (the wife and hubby duo) rocked the overall meters soundly resting in 1st and 2nd but Zak made sure they couldn't make a single mistake as he brought up 3rd place. (Impressive considering he has to move a lot in the Maiden fight).
- Barlannagh showed he can tank the @#$% out of a raid and it was never an issue for people to worry about their agro. (but thankfullly on all bosses he had a Pally 'just in case'. hehe. (Woot Kahl and Serbos)
- Tj, Shan and Doren did not once slip in their duties at keeping people up as we had NO casualties on any of the downed bosses. (Rockte wasn't REALLY dead on Attumen he was just feigning hehe).

Okay I'm biased, I saved my fav class for last... The Hunters... Truly a culinary masterpiece of ice Traps and High DPS being the 'menu du jour' that was promptly (still piping hot) delivered to the mobs with smiles on their faces and courteous service.

All in all an EXCELLENT job I can't wait to get more of our guild in there!!

We've struggled to 70, we've watched the guild grow, we've watched OTHER guilds tell us, by forums and action, how 'leet' they are and how far advanced they are in the game... but where are they now?

You've learnt how to install an add-on, connect to vent, what threat is and how an agro table works. You can tell me what a macro does, and what a shot rotation is for...

Now it's time to prove all your blood, sweat and tears was worth it.

Karazhan is calling, Friday Jul 25, 2008 @ 8:00pm st (server time) we will be sending out invites to Kara (fly to Darkshore and run through Deadwind pass to arrive at the gates).

Bring your pots, your buff food, your water and your guts because this place isn't for the faint of heart.

I suggest you bring armour repaired to the fullest, because I can not only guarantee you a good fight and a fun time, but I most certainly guarntee you a few wipes.

Click on the Calendar link at the top of the page and sign up. The first 10 people that fit the roster roles (Tank, DPS, Healer and Other) WHO I (Rockte) FEEL ARE GEARED AND SUFFICIENTLY EXPERIENCED WITH THEIR CLASS will get invited. (We will have a bench going for subs through the run so even if it looks full you may still make the run).

It's going to be a blast.

Friday the 13th - Guild run

I am hoping that we'll have enough of a 'mix' of family (guild) and our friends to run the AQ 20. AQ (Ahn Qiraj) was one of the first dungeons I TRULY felt was the future of raid running. The fights were unique, hard to figure out and when you get figure it out they required a firm understanding of your role in a raid and for everyone to work as a team. Threat swaps, team kiting, true Multi target tanking all add to a certain "je ne sais quoi" (I don't know what.. in french) to the enjoyment of this run.

So let's hope we get enough people to see it.

If not... I'll make a last minute decision to either take all level 68+ level characters to start getting Kara key attuned. (Just so we have a few) OR we'll head back into ZG and beat on Hakkar a bit. ;)

As posted in the forums, we're doing our first raid to learn how stuff works. I'll be showing you addons, how to deal with vent and the mechanics of a decent (some would say good) raid management. ;)

Hi All

Well it's time for us to starting prepping for our big battles against the denizens of Karazhan. As we have 15 members all in their 60's I think it's entirely possible that we are in Kara by end of July. This would give us enough time to get geared and get our Kara key and be ready to go.

I'll be posting some quest line you'll want to look into (mostly all 5 man group quests) that we'll all want to accomplish for the gear.

One thing I want you all to take from this, I EXPECT (almost without exception) that anyone who is planning on staying in this guild and wants to raid MUST have their Kara key. The whole quest line is very indicative of being gear and skill ready to hit Kara. Sure we don't all NEED it but the lax rules in the recent patch that took away attunement was more for guilds established who are running it with alts. I think that completing the fights in the Caverns of Time, amongst the other steps, are very good test of your group mechanic, gear level and overall skill in being able to confidently say: "I am ready for Kara"

I know people are having fun with alts, and if you're the Level 70's doing it.. all the more power to you, but I hope all level 60+ are now going to FOCUS and stick to their mains just to make that last push to get levelled and ready.

I'll start a forum thread today about this and we can discuss.

ATTENTION!!

If you didn't notice, the website is new. A little bit different but I think much much better.

Please RE-REGISTER with your in game "main" character name to get access to everything.

I feel this was a good move for us as the options available to the Wow gamer right from the home page are amazing, WowHead and Wowwiki searches, Raid Calendars, Recruit lists, Ventrilo status, Roster population, Loot lists, Curse gaming searches.. I haven't enabled them all yet but the options are endless.

Enjoy and visit the forums to let me know if you have any issues I'll take care fo them as soon as I can.
